One engineer, no handovers

I'm Suhail. I built and run web247 myself: the servers, the network and the ticket queue. I have over seven years of experience as a backend and systems engineer, building scalable software, managing Linux virtualisation, and operating production internet infrastructure.

Why web247 exists

I started out freelancing for a US hosting company, doing support for other people's infrastructure.

The customers I dealt with kept wanting the same thing: someone to just handle their website, without the overcharging or the sloppy work the bigger providers were known for. That's where the interest in servers, already there from the job, turned into wanting to run this myself.

web247 exists for that kind of customer: you deal with one reliable, no-nonsense person who gets your site up and keeps it running, so you're spending time on the business instead of worrying about domains or hosting.

What I actually do

Most website projects get split between a hosting provider and a web agency. When something goes wrong or performs poorly, each points fingers at the other. At web247, the same person does both.

  • Hosting the infrastructure

    Configuring the server, hardening Linux, tuning LiteSpeed or Nginx, and monitoring uptime. When something needs attention on the server or the network, there is no queue or ticket escalation: I investigate and resolve it directly.

  • Building the site itself

    Writing clean, fast markup, styles, and application backends tailored to your tier. Because the same person writes the code and provisions the server, nothing gets handed between separate teams, and nothing gets lost in the handover.

    A network benchmarking tool used across hosting communities to evaluate network speed, system performance, and route latency.

  • Backend work at scale

    Production Python systems processing millions of pages a day, with six years of experience building reliable data ingestion and backend workflows.

  • Fleet operations and L2 support

    Level 2 technical support for VPS, dedicated, and GPU fleets at a hosting provider, handling hypervisors, hardware diagnostics, and complex network issues.
